Know Your Body

“The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Gen 2:7)

When my kid was younger he came home from school and asked, ” Mom, when you go to heaven, do you have any idea how you are going to find out who are Adam and Eve?” Well, I’ve never thought about it. I know I will find Jesus right away but not sure about Moses, Abraham, Solomon, David, Daniel, Paul, Sarah, Leah, Rachel, Miriam…, Adam and Eve, and all the famous people in the Bible. So I asked my son how he is going to find who are Adam and Eve, then he answered, ” Very easy. Since God made them, they do not have belly buttons!”. That is so right!  They do not have belly buttons since they were not born through their mother’s womb. Adam was made from the dust and Eve has Adam’s rib bone inside her body.

God created human in His unique ways for His purposes. We all have the same Spirit in our body but have different system. The Bible says God’s Spirit is in us and we are His temple. And we are supposed to use our whole body as a tool to do what is right for the glory of God. We are born not only to worship Him, love Him, enjoy Him, and glorify Him but also to love and serve others with our body. So it’s our responsibility to take care of our body because without our body we can’t do anything on this planet.

Knowing God and knowing my own body is the first step for a healthy life. Only God and I can understand my body. And through my experiences, I know that my body knows how to heal itself by food that God provides.  I believe food is a medicine. But  as Hippocrates said, “One man’s food, the other’s poison”, I have to know what works for my body. Even the doctors ask me if I am allergic to any medications before they give me prescriptions. So finding out which foods are good for me is the most important thing to do.

Now, how do you find out which food is good for you?
