“In my father’s house are many dewiling places ; If it were not so, I would have told you ; for I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2)
I got this Words three days before my mom’s sudden death. My mom was in a poor health for years but when I least expected, she went to the Lord all of a sudden. Surely, it was a doctor’s neglegency and we all were upset. God, however, never make mistakes. Things happen for a devine reason…and He always prepares us through His words. What a great God we have!
When I was younger we had a family worship time every night. After dinner, we got around in our family room and sang to the Lord. My mom’s favorite hymn was ‘Amazing Grace’. She kept singing from morning till night, all day long and asked me to play on the piano whenever she sang. Probably I played more than ten thousands times in my life.
My father told me later that she sang that song at the last moment of her life too. In her subconcious mind, she asked my dad to hold her hands and began to sing…
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind but now I see.
Then…she went to the Lord…
I miss my mom. I miss hearing my mom singing her favorite song and I miss accompanying her. I have a hope that some day we will sing that song again together with heavenly choir in front of Jesus.
I love you, mom.
On Happy Mother’s Day.
