One of the vegetables that I eat almost everyday is the onion. I eat either raw or cooked. Whether it is white, yellow, or red, onions are one of the world’s most popular and versatile vegetables. I use them in cold salads, hot soups, burgers, and almost every dish I cook. When onions are sautéed it becomes caramelized and it becomes sweeter than sugar. Yum~
These onions are not only delicious but also beneficial for your health. I read a couple of articles that say that eating onions may reduce the risk of stomach cancer since it contains antioxidant elements. So I suggest eating onions more often.
Drumsticks with Onion Sauce
6 pieces chicken drumsticks
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon cooking wine
2 tablespoons honey (optional)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 tablespoon minced ginger
1 large size sliced onion
pink salt, pepper
In a pan, combine chicken drumsticks with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, cooking wine, and honey.
Mix well and marinate for about 30 minutes.
Add sliced onion on top of marinated chicken and cover the lid. Cook about 30 minutes over medium-low to low heat.
After 30 minutes, the onion gets soft and translucent. Mix well with the sauce.
Cook for 10-15 minutes more or until the meat is fully cooked.
Take out the meat and keep it warm. Boil the sauce until it gets thicker.
Serve on top of white rice or brown rice.
Serve hot. Enjoy~
